As we continue to navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape, auDA is pleased to share our Public Policy Agenda for 2024-25. This Agenda identifies the key technology policy issues we focus our advocacy and attention on in 2024-25. The issues align with our purpose and are vital to support Australia’s digital transformation.

auDA monitors and engages with a range of organisations and processes where internet governance and policy issues are under discussion. The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) is one such organisation, and this blog explores a major event in the ITU’s standardisation work, the ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), happening in late 2024.

In June, we shared the Statement of Purpose for a Technical Community Coalition for Multistakeholderism (TCCM). This is an initiative of auDA and other technical operators to bring a perspective from the internet technical community to shape the future of internet governance. It’s critical for stakeholders to set out their expectations for what good governance in the technology sphere looks like. The TCCM has now done so, highlighting weaknesses in the UN process in a statement released this week.

auDA hosted a webinar where we heard from a specialist panel on their top takeaways from the ICANN80 Policy forum. The highlights from this insightful discussion on key policy work are captured in our blog.
