One of our roles is to review complaints relating to .au domain names and registrars providing services in the .au domain.
Complaints about a .au domain name should be made with the registrar of record first. If you have complained to your registrar and your complaint has not been resolved, we can review it for you.
We are not responsible for monitoring, changing or deleting harmful or inappropriate content on websites. You need to contact the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to let them know about inappropriate or harmful online content.
If you are the victim of DNS abuse you can contact Scamwatch or the eSafety Commissioner.
We investigate domain names where there is breach or potential breach of the .au licensing rules. If the rules have not been breached but you believe your intellectual property rights, for example in a trade mark, are being infringed, please refer to the .au Dispute Resolution Policy page for information about the domain name arbitration process.
Please note:
- Only complaints with valid contact details can be accepted.
- All personal information provided to auDA is handled in accordance with auDA's Privacy Policy.
- Information about the .au licensing rules can be found here.
- If a complaint is upheld it will not result in the name being transferred to the complainant.
