The auDA Foundation, supported by auDA, is thrilled to open applications for its 2022 Grant Round. This year the Foundation is committing $600,000 in grants for education, research and community-based projects that improve how Australians access and benefit from the internet.
The 2022 Grant Round will fund research and education initiatives that promote digital inclusion and innovation across five key areas:
1. Rural, regional and remote communities
2. Disability groups
3. First Nations peoples
4. Older Australians
5. Small business.
Since 2006, the auDA Foundation has fostered innovation to enhance the utility of the internet in Australia, distributing grant contributions in excess of $3 million for more than 140 projects. The 2022 Round will further its contribution and impact.
auDA Foundation Chair, James Atkins, said, “The auDA Foundation is proud to promote projects that deliver genuine improvements for Australians through the internet. I encourage those interested to submit their applications and work with us to enhance the utility of the internet for all Australians.”

Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship (ACRE) was a 2021 Grant Round recipient. Tom Colcott, ACRE’s Social Enterprise Schools Learning Coordinator, said, “The auDA Foundation grant enabled us to develop the Social Enterprise Schools program. It has unlocked opportunities for young social entrepreneurs and empowered them to learn essential digital skills”.
The auDA Foundation will launch the 2022 Grant Round this evening at an event in Sydney, which will also celebrate the 2021 Grant recipients.
Applications for the 2022 Grant Round open today and close on 9th September 2022.
