On 1 October 2024, the wholesale price of a .au domain name licence will increase from AUD $7.78 to $8.45 (ex GST) per year.
The wholesale price change reflects inflation-based cost pressures to administer the .au domain. It will support auDA to:
- Continue to operate as a self-funding not-for-profit organisation, as required under auDA’s Terms of Endorsement from the Federal Government
- Invest in maintaining and enhancing our cyber security stance, including ISO accreditation and operationalising requirements under federal Security of Critical Infrastructure legislation
- Meet our strategic aims and deliver on our core functions under the Terms of Endorsement from the Federal Government.
.au domain names deliver strong value for money. From 1 October, they will remain strong value for money, with the annual wholesale price of a .au domain name licence continuing to cost significantly less than the wholesale price of other comparable Top Level Domain options.
auDA is committed to maintaining and delivering a secure, reliable and trusted .au and to unlocking positive social and economic benefit for all Australians online.
