.au service disruption
On the afternoon of 22 March 2022, the .au domain experienced an issue that impacted a small number of .au users.
auDA takes seriously any disruption to operations. On being notified of the issue, we worked quickly with the .au registry operator to restore services and resolve the issue for end users in under two hours.
An investigation into the root cause identified a bug in the process that generates the DNSSEC digital signing records. We are aware that end users using one public DNS resolver were impacted.
We apologise to those users affected and thank them for their patience and understanding as we resolved this matter.
.au direct launch
Registrations for the new .au direct namespace will proceed on 24 March 2022 as scheduled.
We recognise there is genuine community interest in and demand for the new namespace. We are pleased to launch this new innovation in the .au and to open registrations and the Priority Allocation Process from tomorrow.
