auDA administers a Licensing Framework for .au domain names that is transparent, accountable and supports the stable, secure and reliable operation of the .au domain.
Registrars play an important role in ensuring the integrity of the Licensing Framework, which comprises:
- The Registrar Agreement between the registrar and auDA
- The .au Licensing Rules
- The .au Registrar Rules
- Other relevant auDA published policies.
When a breach of registrar obligations under the Licensing Framework is identified, we’ll work with the registrar to assess the nature and severity of the breach, and determine appropriate remedial action.
One outcome may be that the registrar is required to provide an undertaking to auDA for breach remediation/rectification and in respect of future conduct.
