.au members are critical stakeholders for auDA, representing the diverse online needs of Australians and helping us in our role as custodians of the .au domain.
In 2023, auDA's .au membership program grew significantly, spurred along by a record number of events around the country, ending the year with more than 4,700 .au members from a wide range of sectors. In 2024 we remain committed to ensuring our membership is representative of the Australian community and to continuing to deliver value to our members through a range of unique benefits and services.
Here’s what you can expect from .au membership in the year ahead.
A new .au member portal, educational resources and updates on emerging internet trends
This year, we’re excited to launch the .au member portal – a hub for on-demand content relevant to members which will span a range of topics. The portal will also provide a simple way for members to update their details and preferences, and get in touch with auDA. The portal is currently in the testing stage and is expected to go live in the first quarter of the year.
Members will also continue to receive auDA and industry news, reports and insights delivered directly to their inboxes each week via the .au member weekly newsletter. Just this week, auDA released a brand-new report detailing how we prevent domain name system (DNS) abuse in .au and ensure .au remains one of the most secure domains in the world. Our A secure .au report is available on the auDA website now. In the first half of the year, we’ll also release the next iteration of our Digital Lives of Australians research study. Now in its fourth year, Digital Lives explores the online experiences of Australian consumers and businesses to identify challenges and opportunities for Australians online.
More member events across all corners of the country
Building on a busy 2023 program, our 2024 .au events program remains a key focus to deliver insights and networking opportunities for members. This year, we’ll deliver an expansive range of webinars and continue to support events at universities and startup hubs throughout Australia. We’ll also host networking events in each capital city and continue to expand our engagements across regional Australia with visits to Northern New South Wales and Far North Queensland planned for February and May respectively. Keep an eye on our events page for more information.

Have your say
The .au is for all Australians. In carrying out our work, it's important we receive input from a diverse range of stakeholders and .au members help us achieve this. Our .au members provide meaningful insights on how Australians use .au and the internet. This enhances our understanding of Australians’ online needs and provides input into auDA policies and strategy.
In 2024, .au members will again be invited to provide feedback in a range of forums, from public consultations and direct feedback to the auDA team. In February, we will conduct the .au member survey. We encourage all members to take the opportunity to provide feedback on .au membership.
Supporting .au and an open, free, secure and global internet
Your .au membership signals your support for auDA and the .au, and auDA’s purpose delivering a trusted .au for the benefit of all Australians and championing an open, free, secure and global internet.
We look forward to continuing to engage with our .au membership community throughout 2024.
