Transfer a name between registrars

You can transfer your domain to a different registrar any time you like.

The transfer process can usually be done via your registrar’s website.

There’s no fee to transfer a name to a new registrar.

You’ll need to be eligible to hold the name at the time of transfer as a registrar isn’t allowed to transfer a name if you’re not eligible to hold it.

To initiate the transfer you’ll need to provide your domain’s authorisation code.

You can’t transfer a name which is subject to any complaints process, dispute resolution or court proceedings.

edu.au names cannot be transferred between registrars as there is only one registrar authorised to manage edu.au domain names.
