auDA is an Australian not-for-profit organisation responsible for administering the .au domain, relied on by internet users in Australia and around the world.

.au Domain Administration (auDA) is an Australian not-for-profit organisation, endorsed by the Australian Government to manage the .au domain for the benefit of all Australians. Our Terms of Endorsement from the Australian Government set out auDA’s core functions.

auDA's core functions

We support the needs of Australian internet users by delivering on our core functions.

auDA is a company limited by guarantee with more than 5,000 members who participate in the .au membership program. Our members are vital stakeholders and support our work and meet the changing needs of Australian internet users. auDA also engages with members of the Australian public and stakeholders from industry, government, the technical community, civil society and academia to deliver our core functions.

The auDA Constitution governs how the organisation operates, including appointment and duties of Board Directors, and auDA membership and our advisory committees.

ICANN agreement

auDA operates under an agreement with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the international body that coordinates the internet’s naming and numbering system.
