Applying for registrar accreditation
To be become an auDA accredited registrar you must submit an application to auDA.
In your application you'll need to show that your organisation meets the corporate, operational and security related requirements.
Accreditation is open to Australian companies as well as foreign companies holding an ARBN.

Please note that you will not be able to access Identity Digital Australia's systems until you have been provisionally accredited by auDA.

Accreditation costs
- Application fee to auDA of AUD$2,200 (GST inc) - non-refundable
- Annual licence fee to auDA of AUD$3,300 (GST inc)
- Starting balance with Identity Digital of AUD$10,000.
Applicants must also meet the cost of any technical development, staff training or other activities required to obtain accreditation.

Registry connections
Upon receiving final approval to access the .au registry system, each registrar is entitled to maintain up to 40 concurrent registry connections as set out in their Registrar Agreement.
A registry connection is a secure channel between registrars and the .au registry. Registry connections are used by registrars to send instructions to the registry, for example to create or delete domain name registrations or to renew or update existing domain name records.
All connections of a registrar are subject to an overall capacity limit.
